About the Role
This role will be responsible for supporting general accounting functions including payroll processing, benefits administration, and maintaining accurate employee records in our HR systems. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, payroll experience, discretion and a keen eye for accuracy and compliance.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Support daily accounting operations, including AP/AR, reconciliations, and journal entries.
Reconcile bank, credit card, and daily ticket sales.
Process biweekly payroll, maintain employee records, and ensure accurate deductions, remittances, and compliance with relevant legislation.
Prepare ROEs, T4S, and manage payroll-related queries and discrepancies.
Administer employee benefits, including enrolments, changes, terminations, and liaise with providers as needed.
Maintain HR and payroll systems, ensuring accuracy in employee data and employment changes (hiring, promotions, terminations, etc.).
Ensure compliance with record-keeping and company policies; generate reports for management and finance teams.
What You’ll Bring to the Role:
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting, payroll administration, and employee record management.
- PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) certification is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, payroll software, HRIS systems, and accounting software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees and external partners.
- Strong ethics and ability to handle sensitive financial and employee information.
