What will you be doing?
You'll bridge our core engineering and customer-facing support teams, diving deep into complex, real-world issues from client environments. You'll diagnose and reproduce problems, design robust solutions, optimise systems for performance and reliability, and collaborate across teams—all while mentoring others and championing best practices.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like
Handle escalated technical issues from support and customer teams, driving swift, high-quality resolutions
Troubleshoot, replicate, and diagnose problems across application layers, translating findings into clear defect reports
Design, develop, test, and maintain features that improve stability, performance, and customer experience
Optimise systems for performance, scalability, and operational reliability
Participate in code reviews, pairing sessions, and cross-functional collaboration to uphold engineering standards
Create clear technical documentation, including runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge-base articles
Balance reactive incident work with planned development, managing workload and meeting agreed timelines
Mentor less experienced engineers, sharing troubleshooting skills and best practices across the team
What You’ll Be Able to Bring to the Role
Experience in software development with proficiency in modern programming and/or scripting languages (web or application development)
Strong foundation in software engineering principles: design, development, testing, and production maintenance
Proven ability in deep-dive troubleshooting, debugging, and diagnosing complex issues from real customer environments
Comfort working across multiple technologies and layers, or keen interest in becoming more full-stack
Customer-focused mindset with the ability to translate technical findings into clear, practical solutions
Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork with engineers, QA, product, and support teams
Strong time management, prioritisation, and ability to deliver to agreed timelines
Proactive problem-solver with focus on ownership, follow-through, and continuous improvement
Salary Banding: $110,000 – $130,000 + Super
