What will you be doing?
This is a newly created role focused on providing high quality financial processes to support the achievement of Jumbo’s business objectives. You will be responsible for assisting the UK Finance Director in delivering oversight of financial compliance, financial reporting and in-region finance processes. Financial compliance includes audit, financial statement preparation & income tax compliance, all of which are undertaken in partnership with, & with the support of, Group Finance based at Head Office in Brisbane, Australia.
Reporting to the Finance Director – UK, the role will work closely with local finance partners (internal and external), in-region leaders, Head of Operations & Group Finance Team, and is uniquely positioned to help modernise finance processes and ensure accurate financial information is being produced.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like
This is a dynamic, generalist role offering variety and impact. You will partner with the UK Finance Director to ensure the business runs efficiently, translating numbers into actionable insights. Your day-to-day could include:
Leading month-end reporting and help streamline processes across UK operations.
Supporting quarterly forecasts, annual budgeting, and ASX reporting.
Annual & Half Year ASX results reporting support including audit & financial statement preparation support.
Building dashboards, management reports, and presentations that turn data into clear insights.
Develop financial models and analysis (e.g. cash flow forecasting) to support ongoing business performance management & progress on strategic initiatives.
Dive into variances, identify opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations.
Create financial models to track cash flow, performance, and strategic initiatives.
Taking on projects and initiatives that help shape the business.
Partnering with the UK leadership, turning complex data into clarity for decisions.
What You’ll Be Able to Bring to the Role
Professional Qualification - ACCA / CIMA or equivalent
Knowledge of accounting/financial/operational reporting principles, including experience of financial audits
Experience in developing financial reports and metrics
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
Attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture
Ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication
Keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data to find solutions
Ability to effectively drive projects across an organisation
Preferred candidates will have:
3+ year post professional qualification experience
Experience across multi-business environment
Leadership and/or development/change of a finance function within an operating business
Previous experience in financial reporting teams
Experience with Xero / QuickBooks accounting platforms
Salary Banding: £65,000-£75,000 per annum
