P&C Officer - Maternity Cover
We usually respond within two weeks
Over 30 years, we've grown from humble beginnings (founded 1995) to a global digital lottery technology leader (ASX: JIN), operating in Australia, the UK, Canada and the USA. We partner with thousands of good causes worldwide, helping raise over $290M in FY25 alone. Innovation is at the heart of everything we do.
We develop cutting-edge solutions empowering our lottery and not-for-profit partners to raise funds for their vital causes. We believe in fostering an environment where talented people can innovate, grow, and have fun.
What will you be doing?
Stepping into a 9-month fixed-term contract (maternity leave cover), you'll support our People & Culture team with end-to-end HR operations across the employee lifecycle—onboarding through to offboarding—while helping deliver a smooth, responsive employee experience.
You'll be a key point of contact for employees and first-line leaders, providing day-to-day guidance on policies, leave and general people queries, and supporting performance and team changes where needed (escalating more complex matters to the HR Manager). You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing process improvements—particularly in HiBob—alongside small projects such as creating quick reference guides, improving employee-facing processes, and supporting reporting/dashboard work depending on your experience and interests.
What success looks like in this role:
In this 9-month cover, success means keeping core People & Culture operations running smoothly, improving the employee experience, and ensuring our documentation, HRIS data, and WHS administration remain accurate and compliant.
What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like:
Deliver end-to-end HR operations support across the employee lifecycle (onboarding through offboarding), serving as the first point of contact for day-to-day employee and manager queries (policies, leave, general HR requests), escalating more complex matters to the HR Manager.
Partner with first-line managers to provide guidance and coaching on Employee Relations matters (probation, performance, conduct concerns), building trusted relationships with key stakeholders and supporting them with timely, thorough advice.
Draft, manage, and maintain employment documentation, including contracts, variations, probation correspondence, and other lifecycle letters in line with Australian employment legislation
Support Health & Safety (WHS) administration and compliance activities, including coordinating training completion tracking, supporting incident and hazard reporting, and assisting with reporting requirements.
Maintain and continuously improve employee lifecycle processes with a focus on a smooth employee experience, optimising HiBob workflows and developing simple process documentation and quick reference guides.
Assist with HR reporting and the dashboard project, including running reports and supporting data-related requests where needed.
Support the wider P&C team by jumping in on priorities outside your core remit when required (e.g., L&D admin support)
Provide ad-hoc operational support to other regions where required to ensure consistency of Group P&C processes and standards, and act as backup coverage for office coordination when needed, including being on-site full-time during planned leave coverage periods.
What You'll Be Able to Bring to the Role:
Proven People Operations/HR experience across the employee lifecycle (onboarding through to offboarding), or strong HR admin experience with the drive to step up into a broader generalist role
Experience supporting first-line managers with Employee Relations matters (probation, performance management, conduct issues), combined with confidence in providing day-to-day P&C support to employees and leaders, with the judgement to escalate appropriately
Experience with employment documentation (drafting contracts, variations, and probation correspondence) and Health & Safety/WHS administration (training tracking, incident reporting), or willingness to quickly develop these capabilities
Experience using an HRIS (HiBob preferred) and confidence to quickly learn new systems; able to create and maintain simple process documentation, quick reference guides, and employee-facing resources
A proactive, service-focused approach—responsive, thorough, able to build trust with stakeholders quickly, with strong attention to detail and solid ability to manage competing priorities and communicate when reprioritisation is needed
A process-oriented mindset focused on continuous improvement and enhancing the employee experience
A flexible, team-first attitude with confidence using everyday tools (Google Workspace, Excel, Slack); happy to jump in on broader P&C tasks and provide backup office coordination support during leave periods (exposure to reporting/dashboard work is a plus)
Salary Banding: $90,000 - $115,000+ Super
