Hybrid work - our approach
Our flexible work approach helps our people to face the demands of juggling work, family and personal obligations. Our Flexible Work Framework aims to amplify the benefits of human connection while working from the office and the flexibility of working remotely. This means that the majority of our people work from office for a minimum of three days each week and work from home for the rest of the week.
Flexible hours
We know the 9-5 doesn’t work for everyone so we have flexible hours. As long as you are here for the core hours of 10am-2pm, it’s up to you to see what works best and manage your remaining contracted hours!
Anywhere with Jumbo
Our Relocation Policy also offers unparalleled flexibility - for up to 120 days of any 12 month period, work from (almost) ANYWHERE in the world.
"I took advantage of Jumbo's voluntary relocation policy to spend 3.5 months working remotely across Asia, including the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia. It was a great way to stay productive while experiencing completely different cultures and environments. I combined it with my annual leave so I was able to spend some time seeing the sights in the countries I visited but also have some time to relax in between seeing my family in the Philippines, meeting my partners family in Indonesia, getting engaged in Japan, and the 19 total flights across 7 countries. I always kept my team aware of where I would be and what timezone I would be in by translating my work hours into Brisbane time.”
Our office
The kitchen
Our chefs prepare lunch every day. On Tuesday and Wednesday you’ll find fresh muesli, and on Thursday mornings, a delicious hot breakfast. At any time, you’re welcome to help yourself to our selection of fresh fruits. We also have an espresso coffee machine and a selection of teas.
Getting here
Car park - We have onsite parking for up to 2 days a week.
Paid parking - Wilson Parking is located within Milton Green and provides discounted parking when booked online in advance.
Driving - Employees can book a carpark for up to 2 days per week via our internal booking system. For the remaining days that you come into the office, consider street parking nearby or commuting via one of the methods listed below.
Train - We are within close proximity to Milton (600m), Roma Street (1.1km), South Brisbane (1.5km) and Auchenflower (1.8km) train stations.
Bus - There are bus stops situated at Coronation Dr at Boomerang St (74m), Milton Rd at Suncorp (372m), Montague Rd near Brereton St (467m), Milton Rd at Milton Rail Station (500m) and Park Rd near Fort Lane (600m).
Ferry - The office is a short walk away from Milton Ferry Terminal.
What to wear
At Jumbo, we’re pretty casual when it comes to dress. We believe people do their best work when they feel comfortable and can be themselves - whether that means dressing up, dressing down, or somewhere in between. There’s no formal dress code.
Connecting with each other
A few times a year, we host various work events where Jumbo organises the food, drinks, and entertainment. Some of these parties are family-friendly, where we also put on entertainment for the kids.
Our super social office offers an arcade, which includes table tennis, chess, a pool table and a pinball machine, where many go to hang out at lunch or after work. In addition, if you are musically inclined you can join our Jumbo band!

Wellness program
We take care of the whole person at Jumbo. Access health services and we’ll reimburse you up to $60 per month. In addition, access counselling services and we will reimburse you up to $150 for 6 sessions a year.
Paid parental leave
We empower both mothers and fathers to bond with their new addition by offering a max of 14 weeks of paid primary carer leave and a max of 4 weeks of paid partner leave (eligibility criteria apply). We also have half-pay options.
Learning & Development program
We support all team members’ career journeys. We encourage team members to drive this journey by speaking and working with their managers on their personal development plan. In addition, all team members have access to internal and external training opportunities and a training budget.
